Biography

My name is Mélina, but you can call me Mel. I'm an illustrator based in Montreal, and I love drawing characters, dragons, and birds! I'm a huge fantasy nerd and video games, and those passions influence my work.
I am mostly a digital artist now, using Procreate and Photoshop, but I always love going back to my roots and using alcohol markers. My illustration style could be described as clean linework mixed with a painterly feel. I love doing research and concept, my favorite part of designing is thinking about the “why”.

Je m'appelle Mélina, mais appelez-moi Mel. Je suis une illustratrice basée à Montréal et j'adore dessiner des personnages, des dragons et des oiseaux! Je suis une grande fan de fantasy et de jeux vidéo, et ces passions influencent mon travail.
Je suis principalement une artiste numérique maintenant, utilisant Procreate et Photoshop, mais j'aime toujours revenir à mes racines et utiliser des marqueurs à alcool. Mon style d'illustration est un travail au trait épuré mêlé à un effet de peinture. J'adore la recherche et les concepts, ma partie préférée de la conception est de réfléchir au « pourquoi ».
