After the tests, students received badges based on their athletic prowess. For many, including the article’s author, the experience was nothing but negative. This, however, is a story about redemption.

In the end, the article’s author discovered her athleticism in her own way. On a mountain. Once she and a friend climbed successfully, she realized how strong she really was. Valéry’s illustration accompanies the story and brings to life this journey of triumph in a fresh and engaging way. So long, participation badges.
